By Jackson Klear

Snack foods are really popular in America. There are also many companies that battle for your money, and hope that you'll become loyal customers of theirs. Diamond Foods is one such company, and their CEO http://www.linkedin.com/pub/dir/Steven/Neil has taken great strides to ensure the company is more poplar than it ever has been.

Throughout his time at the company, Mr. Neil has provided many new innovations. The sort of which has led them into a new era of snacking success. They've become one of the food giants, and they produce some of the most popular American snacking products.

One of the first things that he did, was to help provide more variety to the Emerald Nuts brand. While it was already successful, he ensured that they changed to become more of a health brand as well. Thereby opening themselves up to the health crazes.

But he's accomplished a lot more than that. Another big part of his legacy at Diamond, are the brands that he acquired while working for them as well. These helped to branch out the company's products, growing their hold on the snack market even further.

Utilizing his leadership, they were able to make the jump into popcorn, by purchasing Pop Secret. This allowed them to tap into a market that they hadn't been able to before. Affording them the chance to reach more people.

Of course that led them to another successful purchase. Not to mention another new snack market to tap into. With the acquisition of Kettle Chips, Diamond moved into potato chip manufacturing, which is one of the most common and popular snacks in the western world.

From there they also attempted to form a deal with Pringles. This would have strengthened their hold on the food industry, and that coveted potato chip consumer base. However, the move ultimately proved fruitless.

After all is said and done, you can measure Neil's legacy on what he helped Diamond accomplish. They've got a larger share of the snack market than ever before. But more importantly, they're set up to acquire even better opportunities in the future.
