More Men Consider Procedures

There is still a big difference when it comes to the women and men having cosmetic procedure or plastic surgery, but the number of men considering these options is increasing. The expanding popularity of non-surgical options to improve your appearance has certainly caught men up in its storm.

Most men want a fast recovery time, and for the procedure to be unnoticed by their friends, family and coworkers, they want the process to fit into their life with ease. Nowadays, men pay more attention to how their skin appears due to the higher awareness of skin cancer, and of course men also like to improve their appearance when they can. The more exposure to the sun that someone has had, the less effective the elasticity of the skin will be, and they will look more aged because of this.

The damage that is caused by the sun can be partially repaired and protected using advancements in skin care techniques. It's a simple thing to do after the daily shave with perhaps a bit of a top up at night before retiring.

For men, one of the more popular types of procedures is rhinoplasty. Usually it's the size of the nose that is the issue, but an uneven or crooked nose are also reasons for the procedure. Rhinoplasty is generally performed as a day patient under a general anaesthetic and return to work is possible after a week but some bruising may persist for as long as two weeks.

Facial rejuvenation procedures such as face and neck lift and blepharoplasty can be done with very inconspicuous scars and this also appeals to men. However most men don't want that over-done look. With men in general, less is more and they would rather accept a few lines than have a conspicuous post-surgical appearance that makes them self-conscious.

Fat is targeted in men using exercise and proper diet regimes, but even so, there are still some areas that have fat remaining. Commonly this is in the flank region or on the abdomen where men tend to carry most of their fat. Men can usually return to work the day after having a liposuction procedure, as it's a day procedure that will help to reduce excess fat in these regions.

Accompanying this expanding interest in the muscular athletic male body is a desire for hair removal. Using the latest advances in laser technology, hair removal has become more and more effective in recent years. For the selected areas of the body, several treatments are needed, and one should avoid tanning before undergoing this process.

Men have these procedures done because of their own concerns, and they are not the same as what motivates women. There is a competitive pressure in the marketplace for men, real or imagined. Finding a cosmetic surgeon that is experienced in procedures for men is a good idea, as it seems that many men today want to appear as they did in their youth.

  1. Yes, because they also have complexes, not only women. :) My husband went for a tummy tuck by Dr. Jerome Edelstein, because after losing lots of extra pounds, he remained with unaesthetic saggy skin and a procedure was inevitable for him. But it was something really useful and I love how he looks now.
