Getting Through The HCG Diet Plateau

The HCG diet is becoming very popular and a lot of people are excited with the results. This plan contains three parts and the middle part allows you to lose weight daily until you reach your goal. Yet, it is possible to hit an HCG diet plateau and this can be very frustrating. If this happens to you, consider these helpful tips to remedy the problem.

Plateaus are a normal part of many diets and are nothing to be overly concerned about. Often times, it is just the body adjusting to something new or different. With the HCG plan, it is not uncommon to notice a period of five or six days with no weight loss. Sometimes, patience is all that is needed, so do not quit and give the plan a chance. Your body may work through it on its own.

Increasing your daily moisture intake can help you start losing weight again. Your problem may be too few bowel movements each day. When you drink plenty of water every day you provide your digestive track with enough moisture to operate at maximum efficiency. You may also consider adding some high fiber supplements to your meals. This will increase bowel movements.

If you are no longer losing weight each day, check your program. You may be doing little things that are steering you away from the original plan. Be certain that you eat all the carbohydrates that you need, but not too many. You also can eliminate lean red meat and eat more vegetables. This may be all that you need to do.

Many people find relief from an HCG diet plateau with apples. Make sure to check your weight each day and when you notice no loss, eat only apples for the next day. This means that you should be eating about six apples total. However, you may need to eat seven or eight if they are small apples.

With the apple strategy, make sure to drink enough water to get by, but no more. This is supposed to move things through your system and get rid of excess water buildup. You may lose as much as two pounds on the next day, with this tactic.

You might be eating the same foods every day and this may cause you to stagnate. Try mixing things up a bit and varying foods. Check to see that you are eating enough every day to keep your metabolism up. Remember that eating at least the minimum calorie amount will help you avoid the HCG diet plateau.
